Bath Day Trip

The ancient Roman Baths are available to visit every day of the week. While you can no longer take a dip you can see how the Baths would have been used back in Roman times. There are charators based on real people to talk to and learn about their lives, from Centurians down to slaves, each person can tell you about their experiences in Bath 2000 years ago.

Alternatively you can take a guided tour of the Baths to discover more about the ancient bathing experience, see the Great Bath and suite of Roman bathing rooms in the East Baths. You will also be shown the Sacred Spring which has been a natural source of hot water for thousands of years.

The city centre offers a fantastic array of high street shops and if you venture down the lanes there are some fantastic boutique shops selling antiques, designer fashion and much more. 

For fans of the Bridgerton Netflix series you may find yourself in familiar settings as many of the scenes were filmed in the city. It's even possible to book a walking tour of the city so you can pose where the Bridgerton and Featherington families lived or visit the shop they bought their gowns and of course Lady Whistledown's newsletters.

If you are feeling peckish there are plenty or cafe's and restuarants to choose from. The local delicacy is the Sally Lunn Bun, which has been made since the 1800's at Sally Lunns Historic Eating House. They are part bun, part bread and part cake, a very unique bun that can be enjoyed with sweet or savoury toppings.
