Bristol Cathedral
If you like your history then be sure to visit Bristol Cathedral and the Lord Mayor's Chapel. Standing in the heart of the city centre for almost 900 years, this beautiful place of worship is definitely worth a visit.

Brunel
Of course Bristol is synonymous with Isambard Kingdom Brunel, one of the great engineers of the 19th century. The city hosts his SS Great Britain, the worlds first ocean liner. Designed by Brunel and first launched in 1843, she is now fully preserved and available to visit at the Great Western Dockyard. Brunel's other eye catching work is the Clifton Suspension Bridge spanning the Avon Gorge, which was completed in his memory in 1864, 5 years after his death.









Street Art
Bringing the city right up to date is the amazing street art scene. Headlined by local artist Banksy. This mysterious artist is now world famous for his stencil art pictures which can be scene in the city. No-one knows when the next piece of art will appear or where so we suggest this web page which lists where to find every Banksy in Bristol.

It's not all about Banksy though, as the city has some amazing street art by other artists and has even hosts Europe's largest street art festival each year in Bedminster. Festival artists even visited Weston-super-Mare, leaving their mark of various walls in the town.

Wallace and Gromit
Bristol is also home to Aardman Animation, the creators of Wallace and Gromit. Following on from the latest film which premiered on BBC1 on Christmas Day 2024, there will be an installation of sculptures popping up all over the city in the Summer of 2025. You can expecto see the famous duo along with Norbot, the robot gnome and the dastardly Feathers McGraw. The figures will be sure to delight fan of all ages.
