Nothe Fort
Located at the entrance to Weymouth Harbour the Fort is a labyrinth of underground passageways and outdoor areas with stunning views of the Jurassic Coast. Originally built in the 1860's this was one of our major sea defences. You can learn the history of the fort and how Weymouth (including the Hotel Prince Regent) has been instrumental in many wars within the displays here.
Constructed on three levels , which are easily accessed by means of a lift, the Fort is filled with displays, mammoth guns and cinema areas that chart the history of this large and magnificent Victorian structure. Nothe Fort is now one of Weymouth’s major attractions and a venue for a wide range of events.
You don’t have to be a military enthusiast to enjoy Nothe Fort, it’s a great day out for all the family with lots to see and explore. If you time it right you can see and hear a real canon being fired, and little ones will love the mouse hunt.
Nothe Fort now offers an Annual Pass for all visitors for the same price as a normal admission. This means one adult can come in to the Fort for as many times as they wish during the 12 month validity period for just £7 while a family of four (2 adults & 2 children) can do the same for just £15.
